Local Artist Visit

12th Jun 2024

A local artist, Stephen Johnston, paid Primary 7 a visit.  He brought with him a range of the tools that he uses as well as one of his famous ‘Jar’ paintings and another one that he is currently working on.  The pupils were amazed with his work and asked him question after question, ranging from what his inspiration is to the cost of his paintbrushes.  Stephen led a workshop where he showed us to plan a portrait painting, giving us hints and tips along the way.  The exciting part was to see the artist in action and the speed at which his paintbrush moved.  When he’d finished, he challenged P7 to create their own landscapes.  P7 are inspired, fired up and ready to paint, so watch this space!
