Language & Literacy - April - June 2026
Talking and listening
· Develop active listening skills
· Begin to take turns in a physical way
· Experience verbal instructions with support to complete
· Engage with the Core Word of the Week activities
Writing
· Make purposeful marks - sensory activities
· Use IWB to complete explore effect of marks using ICT
· Use colourful semantics to develop sentence structure
· Completion of Harberton Reading Workbooks – capital letter, full stops, introduction of question marks
Reading
· Experience an adult led story with sensory elements
· Show interest in books
· Makaton reading scheme- clothes

Mathematics & Numeracy - April - June 2026
Number
· Have an awareness of basic number concepts
· Match numbers (1-5, 1- 10)
· Order numbers up to 50
· Enjoy listening to rhymes, stories and songs with an element of counting
· Count and sort a variety of objects depending on individual targets
· Explore numicon through sensory play
Shape
· Explore shapes in the environment
· Explore movement through space during indoor and outdoor play activities – focus on circle, square, rectangle, triangle
