Our P2&3 Space Adventure!

27th Feb 2023

During Term 2 our class has had so much fun learning all about our solar system and the planets. We have found out lots of information and read some very funny stories about adventures in space, alien invasions and even an alien love story for St Valentine's Day. We were sent a letter by some aliens who love underpants and we had to go on an expedition to our very own Garden to Grow to find a list of 'stuff' that they had dropped whilst flying over our school in their spaceship! We learned all about Mae, the first African American woman to travel in space and how we need to work really hard in school and university if we want to become an astronaut. We carried out some exciting science experiments and investigations and are delighted to be taking home some special bracelets to help us stay safe in the sun. We used some clever UV beads that will indicate when the UV rays from the sun are strong enough to burn our skin by changing colour from clear to purple. We made some alien pencil toppers and are using them to tell digital stories on our ipads. Take a look at some of these photographs that show you our some of the activities we have enjoyed together.
