Our topic for September and October is ‘The Great Fire of London’ We are enjoying finding out what happened in 1666. We have been finding out about fire safety and how the fire brigade has changed. We have been programming bee bot to help fight the fire and rescue the diary of Samuel Pepys. We used our topic books for research work. We discovered London Bridge was damaged in the fire and we worked in a pair to build a bridge with Knex. We enjoyed using mobilo to build firemen, fire engines and boats to sail on the River Thames taking the people to safety. We are working as a team to build a jigsaw which is teaching us all about modern day London and also how firemen fight fires today. We have been looking at the appearance of Tudor homes and enjoyed creating our own Tudor style house with coloured paper. As well as developing our cutting skills we used a ruler to draw diagonal, horizontal and vertical lines.
