The Enormous Turnip

6th Feb 2022

P1 really enjoyed listening to the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’. They particularly enjoyed learning about the journey of turnip, how it grows in the ground and ends up on our plate. P1 got the opportunity to taste cooked turnip and it was delicious, there wasn’t one cube left! We even had the opportunity to carry out a science experiment. We added vinegar and bicarbonate of soda to an empty water bottle and as the two substances reacted together they created a gas which blew up the ballon and it got bigger and bigger, just like the enormous turnip!
